I tried a Diablo-inspired environment project this time, modeled all assets in Maya, textured in Substance Painter, and rendered in Unreal Engine 5. Most of the buildings utilize two custom trimsheets I created. The upper body of the statue and the skeletons are based on scan data, which I retopologized and textured. The statue base was sculpted in ZBrush and baked and textured in SP. The statue's cloth was made in Marvelous Designer.
I also experimented with a newly learned technique to fake beveled edges on assets for added realism. The ritual circle was entirely created in Photoshop, with the normal map generated in CrazyBump and later applied as a decal within the engine. I also designed the religious cross looking logo.
